1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope. The purpose of this handbook is to identify the engineering data repository sites within each service.
1.2 Controls. It is the responsibility of all personnel that use engineering data to adhere to appropriate handling, storage, distribution, and disposal controls. Data marked with restrictive legends must be safeguarded against release or access to unauthorized personnel (Government and non- Government).
2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS.
2.1 General. The documents listed below are not necessarily all of the documents referenced herein, but are the ones that are needed in order to fully understand the information provided by this handbook.
2.2 Government documents. The following Government documents and publications form a part of this document to the extent specified herein.

3. DEFINITIONS
3.1 Terms explained.
3.1.1 Engineering data. Engineering documents (i.e., drawings associated lists, accompanying documents, manufacture specifications and standards), or other information prepared by a design activity relating to the design, manufacture, procurement, test, or inspection of items or services.
3.1.2 Primary repository. Repositories that receive, inspect, accept and store the official record copy of data, and disseminate copies of that data to established customers and other appropriate requesters or users.
3.2 Acronyms.
